It’s been a while since I’ve updated the site, so here’s a summary of what’s been going on.
Read MoreIt’s very hard to stay focused or motivated when I’m trying to manage my pain levels every day.
Read MoreI’ve spent this weekend undertaking a really interesting (if not overwhelming) task …
Read MoreWhy did we sing about making the rain go away as children? Winter is a much bigger issue in Canada…
Read MoreWhen I was a child; reading, writing, and creating were my “escape.” Destination Imagination.
Read MoreOh my goodness, I bought so many comics …
Read MoreSetup for Fan Quest Con is tonight!
Read MoreI’m setting some goals for the next year and half in terms of my story and personal artwork.
By my birthday in 2019, I want to have the first two issues of my comic completed.
Read MoreWarm weather is finally here, and birds are flocking to my backyard.
I appreciate the warmer weather, because I feel better … but where is the rain? I love the rainy season, and we’ve had nothing but dry, dreary weather.
Read MoreMy vector piece is finally completed. It’s been a long few weeks, but I think it looks pretty good. I’ve put it in folder of files to be printed closer to the June event.
After I get my art site up and running in August, I’ll have a lot of posts to share 🙂
Read MoreI have ordered my business cards!
Read MoreI have put (an estimated) 30 hours into my vector piece so far … It’s so close, and still yet so far from being ready to print.
Read MoreEverything is finally melting!
I don’t usually get excited about the change of seasons, but I guess being a homeowner, my perspective has shifted. I’m much more aware of the melting snow (less sidewalk maintenance), and the sun coming through the curtains earlier in the morning.
Read MoreIt’s taking me too long to finish this piece. I’ve put entirely too much time in it, but I don’t care. I want it to be right.
Read MoreMy younger brother started the RRC Portfolio Prep class for DMD last week. Tonight, I’m sitting at the campus waiting for him to finish up.
I’m using my time constructively to work on my vector art. In public.
Read MoreHere I am again, at the Exchange District campus, with my best friend. Working on vector eyelashes.
Read MoreOne of things that I’ve always hated about learning a new art technique (or a new instrument, or a new coding language, etc., ad naseum …); is that the advice received right from the beginning is, “start with the basics.”
Thank you for absolutely nothing.
Read MoreMy art, my writing, and my crafts are for me. The things that I create have always been for my eyes only. I’m a very private person, and I’m okay with keeping my creativity to myself.
The surest way to prevent me from completing a project is to walk into my work space, spy on what I’m slaving over, and offer me your honest opinion.
Because in all honesty … I don’t want to hear it.
Read MoreI am so revved up and ready to work on my FanExpo artwork! I’ve completed inking for two pieces, and have started digital workups.
Read MoreGrowing up, I didn’t have any patience for nonsense (and I largely still don’t). I never believed in Santa Clause or the Tooth Fairy, and I told my parents they were either insane or liars if they expected me to waste my time on such melarkey.
Read MoreI’m a shameless introvert. I’m happy to bide my time at home with paints, yarn, writing, Netflix, and my brother and sister (and maybe even spend time with my boyfriend). Interacting with others does not provide me with “social energy” or a “recreational pick-me-up.”
Christmas is my kryptonite.
Read MoreThe time between my monthly meet-ups with my college friends feel so far between. Thirty days is comparable to an eternity when the season changes & the temperature drops, a holiday happens wherein more than fifty people ring your doorbell, stores change their displays, neighbours change their decorations, and co-workers take turns away for holidays.
Read MoreNovember is turning out to be a rather troubling month.
Read MoreI tend to keep my list of objectives fairly short to prevent myself from getting overwhelmed, and in order to prioritize my focus on items of significance. Quality over quantity.
I’ve come to the conclusion that playing it safe is boring.
Read MoreMy Facebook memories have been reminding me that approximately the same time last year (and in subsequent years), I was also awake at 3:00 am. Uncomfortable. Unable to relax. And unhappy about it.
Read MoreI love the fall. The air is crisp and cool, birds don’t wake me up at 6:00 am, everything is colourful and Halloween costumes and decorations are being promoted everywhere.
Read MoreI’m sitting at the downtown Red River Community College campus, waiting for a few of my classmates to join me.
Read MoreLike many aspiring writers, I participate in National Novel Writing Month every year in November.
